Maori Storytelling in Film and TV Workshop

Next week on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 March at Hongoeka Marae in Plimmerton (Wellington) Nga Aho Whakaari (the national body for Maori working in film, video and television) is holding the first of two workshops on the art of traditional and contemporary Maori storytelling for film and television.

This workshop lead by Brad Haami, Ngamaru Raerino and Briar Grace-Smith will examine:
The traditional building blocks of Maori storytelling;
How to draw the traditional Maori aspects of storytelling into a contemporary film or television drama;
Creating a Maori story and characters for a film or drama; and
Practical Maori story creation.

The workshop is open to Maori and non-Maori interested in the subject.

A similar workshop will be held in Auckland on 30 and 31 March.
