ONEDREAMRUSH 42Second Film Showcase, a New Zealand based film project 42×42, will be screened at the prestigious PALAIS Theatre – main venue of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival on 18 May 2009.
Produced and conceived by home grown vodka brand 42BELOW, directors including David Lynch, Harmony Korine, Sean Lennon and Kenneth Anger, alongside NZ’s own Florian Habicht, Taika Waititi, Niki Caro and Chris Graham, come together in one great, big on-screen dream.
Creative Director and Curator Rajan Mehta notes, “We live in a world where cultural exchange spreads faster, and with a lot less resistance, than military or economic invasion. The idea was to leverage that exchange to produce something truly unique.”
42BELOW Global Managing Director Paul Dibbayawan notes, “We just wanted to be able to say we threw a party at Cannes”.
The project involves a global mix of filmmakers, writers and actors all contributing to ONEDREAMRUSH. Through these creators’ visions, the feeling and essence of “how we dream” has been captured and 42BELOW have brought these to the big screen.
The full ONEDREAMRUSH collection will be screened at The Palais at 8pm on Monday 18th May and in true 42BELOW fashion will be followed by a mix of fine cocktails and line and morris dancing at the Chacha Club.
Cannes Film Festival is just the first stop on the ONEDREAMRUSH global tour.
